FAQ
Ghostwriter only reads the text of the field you're writing in and the surrounding conversation, and sends it to the AI model to draft a reply. Nothing is stored on our servers on the free plan — your settings and stats stay in your browser.
On the free plan you paste your own API key (Anthropic or OpenAI). It's stored locally in your browser and used to talk to the model directly — you only pay the model provider for what you use. With Pro, we handle the key for you so there's nothing to set up.
Your key is kept in your browser's local extension storage. It is never exposed to the web pages you visit, and never sent to us on the free plan.
Reddit and LinkedIn have dedicated, context-aware support. Beyond that, the wand shows up in most text boxes on the web — comment fields, reply boxes and rich editors. (Single-line inputs and a few canvas-based editors aren't covered.)
Like any Chrome extension: right-click the icon → Remove, or manage it from chrome://extensions. Your local data is removed with it.
